LYNN has won numerous awards for news and feature writing including a 1998 Pulitzer nomination for investigative work exposing wrongdoing by a state legislator. In 1995, Lynn was awarded the prestigious JCPenney and University of Missouri Lifestyle Journalism award for her feature story about Virginia's death row chaplain.

In 1994, she received the coveted Distinguished Writing Award from the National Association of Black Journalists for achieving the release of an innocent man convicted of sexually assaulting a jogger.

As a freelancer, Lynn has taken on such heavyweights as televangelist Pat Robertson and Smithfield Foods, the largest producer of pork products in the world. Her writing exposed wrongful firings at Robertson's Regent University and worker abuse at Smithfield's pork processing center in North Carolina.

As a “stringer” for the Philadelphia Inquirer, she had the privilege of working under H. G. “Buzzy” Bissinger of Friday Night Lights fame. Bissinger, a Pulitzer winner, believed she had that intangible something it takes to be a journalist and recommended her for a position at The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, where she was a senior writer until 2000.

LYNN WALTZrepresents the highest standards of journalism and is widely respected for her professionalism and integrity.”
