She has written, ghostwritten, or edited stories about topics such as ventral hernia repair, perinatal care, Medicare, antipsychotics, and dementia. Her work has appeared in such journals as Sexuality, Reproduction & Menopause, Current Psychiatry, Women's Health Today, Practical Strategies in Women's Health, and supplements for OB–GYN Management and Contemporary Surgery.

Her riveting story “Shot through the Heart” (DOC, PDF) hangs prominently at a major Virginia hospital where a surgeon saved the life of a pizza–delivery man by sticking his finger in the hole in the patient's heart until it could be closed. Her award–winning “DNA Detectives” (DOC, PDF) is displayed at the Virginia Department of Forensic Science.

“ ‘Shot Through the Heart’ was RIVETING NARRATIVE … a piece that rivaled televisions ‘ER’ and bested ‘Chicago Hope’ in pace and emotional wallop.”
